A Columbia County Boy's Recollections and Memories of Columbia County Florida (2012) Lenvil H. Dicks

                                         MY COUSIN JUNIOR DICKS

Another life-long friend of mine, is a fellow to whom I am related. We are both descendants of the
original Joseph Dicks who came over from England as a boy, and our lineage is as follows starting with
Joseph Dicks, and going down through Junior: Joseph Dicks, then James P. Dicks, then George Dicks,
then Clinton Dicks, then Clinton Dicks, Jr., whom we all refer to as simply “Junior”. On my side of that
lineage it started out Joseph Dicks, Henry Dicks, John Dicks, and then Lenvil Dicks.

                                                                   ,h
If 1 have figured it out right, that makes Junior and me 4 cousins.
The only reason that I have a paragraph in this book on Junior Dicks is that I admire him so much.
Junior is an extremely astute businessman, and despite that most of the people who know both of us
think of me as the well-to-do Dicks, there is no question that Junior Dicks is the wealthiest one of the
Joseph Dicks descendants. That is neither here nor there, as it is other qualities that cause me to admire
                 Junior.

First of all he is a thorough genuine Christian gentleman. 1 know that Junior tithes, and in his particular
case that represents a pretty good bit of money. Also, Junior is one of those fellows that his handshake is
as good as his signature, and if you can ever get him to finally make up his mind what he is willing to
commit to, than you can count on his doing just that.

I have had many, many business dealings with Junior Dicks, and I believe that it is a mutual feeling
between him and me that the other can be counted on to do what he says he will do, and it is really a
pleasure to do business with a knowledgeable businessman who has that trait.

I have many, many first cousins, and even at this late stage in life they still exceed 50 in number. But the
                                                                       Ih
cousin whom I feel most closely associated with, although a 4 cousin, is Junior.
