            There were several ponds and creeks or streams that when passing
            something could always be seen, if you were quiet when approaching.
            If you took time and could sit for a while under a tree, all kinds of
            wildlife would walk, run or fly nearby. If you sat real still often
            times they wouldn't see you. In the late forties, while walking down
            the road, I noticed something swimming from under the bridge. I later
            saw it was a ’gator about 5 to 6 feet long. Never could get a good
            close up look at him, really I was afraid to try to get very close.
            Yes, by now I knew what a gator looked like, and I also knew from
            teachings to keep away from them, because they are a reptile and
            cannot be trained and they are-a predator and can be dangerous
            animals.
