             The  fir  t  great  event  in  our  live  wa  the  moonlight  picnic  given  for
         u  by the  ophomore  at J  ffry'  Lake on the twenty- cond  of  eptemb  r.
         W  had a  wond  rful  tim  and w  re not the  lea  t  bit  timid,             cau    th  r
         were nearly three time  a  many Fre  hmen a                 ophomore  who  went.
             The  next  gr  at  ev  nt  wa  wh  n  the  High  chool  caught  on  fir  in
         December.  But  although  thing  w  re  badly  damag  d,  w                   till  had  to
         go  to  chool.     Tot  only  that,  but we  took  all  the  mid-term  xam  b  for
          hri  tma  .  Th  r  wa  much  wailing  and  gna  hing  of  t  th .  But  the
         exam  were not  ·o bad a  exp  cted, and not ov  r  half of u  flunk  d.
             When  chool  tarted again in January, w  had all mad  the  ew                      ar'
         re  olution to  tudy hard  rand play harde  t.           o w  decid  d to give a party.
         But  fir  t  w  had  to  organize.         r  .  halker  wa  el  c  d  cia       teacher;
          arah  Ialpa  ,  pre  id  nt;  Halbert  Iv  ,  vice-pr  ident,  and  obbi            hack-
        elford,  ecr  tary and  trea  urer.  Our motto,  "  r  en,  but growing."
             A  it wa      o  much  trouble  to  give  a  party,  we  chang  d  it to  a  picnic
        and gave it for the  ophomore  on March the  eventeenth.  W                    pent much
        time planning it, and ev  n  wrot  to th  w  ather man b  gging him to make
         he  un  hine  o we could go in  wimmin  .  He did, and we all  ot bli  t  r  d
        at Jeffry'  Lake.
            Our  hi  tory  ha  not  ended  yet-thi  i  only  th  fir               chapter.  But
