Beta Club is one of the most dedi-
cated and outstanding organiza-
tions at Columbia High. This club
sponsors the annual powder-puff
football game and the Miss CHS Pa-
gent which is held in the spring.
Proceeds from the Beta sponsored
powder-puff game are used to pro-
vide a Christmas party and gifts for
a number of underprivileged child-
ren.
To become a member of Beta
Club a 3.2 grade point average is re-
quired of Seniors, a 3.4 of Juniors,
and a 3.6 of Sophomores. Members
participate in District Meetings, Beta
Bowls , and attend the State
Convention.
The purpose of this club is to pro-
mote honesty, leadership, high
ideals and service among high
school students as well as to recog-
nize them for their individual merit-
orious achievement. At graduation
Senior members are honored by
wearing golden Beta stoles.
