Iran Holds. Americans Hostage

The Shah of Iran, Mohammed
Riza Pahlevi, fled and ended up in a
New York hospital with cancer. Aya-
tollah Ruhollah Khomeini then
emerged from exile to become
Iran's political and spiritual leader.
But turmoil prevailed , and in Novem-
ber of 1979, Iranian students seized
the U.S. Embassy in Teheran and
took 62 Americans hostage.

Who will be our next President?

1980 is another year of Presiden-
tial Elections. Among the many can-
didates vying for the highest office
in the nation are Republicans
George Bush, Ronald Reagan, and
John Conally ; and Democratic
hopefuls Jimmy Carter and Edward
Kennedy.
In November of this year the votes
will be tallied and we then will know
who our next President will be.
