Each year the American Legion of Lake City nominates tudents prior to the•r Semor year to represent Columbia High School at Boys' and Girls' State
at the Florida State Univer ity campus. The representauv~ take part in mock election and fulfill the respon ibiliti~ of governmental office . This experience
enables students to learn about the function of Florida's tate Government.
