Head Coach Simmons Resigns
After 22 years at CHS, Head Football Coach Bobby Simmons calls
it quits
Simmons holds the record with a 15 year stint as Head Coach at
Columb1a
Simmons, 46, came to CHS after three years as Head Coach at
Johnson High School in Rome, Georgia
For the first seven years at CHS, Simmons served as top assistant
under Paul Quinn who left after the 1970 season.
S1mmons took over as Head Coach in 1971 and has posted a 111-
13-1 win-loss record during th1s time.
During these winning years, the Tigers had four District Champion-
ships and three Regional Crowns.
Simmons' teams appeared in the State Play-off or post-season Bowl
games 10 of his 15 seasons.
CHS has won the District Title three of the past four football
seasons, including 19 5.
