Hola, Hej, Bonjour, G'day,
Exchange students bring a world of cul-
ture into our community. This year Colum-
bia High had the opportunity to share the
lives of 5 young ladies from all over the
world. They were: Patricia Tarifa from
Spain, Monica Altamirano from Mexico,
Anja Petersen from Denmark, Anne
Defeweux from Belgium and Elizabeth
Dunn from Australia.
Combined efforts from the girls saw their
participation in many different areas of the
school's programs, including Spanish club
by Monica and Anja, and French club by
Patricia and Anne. Monica displayed her
mathematic abilities in the Mu Alpha Theta
club, athletically, Anja swam her way
through the year, Anne participated in
CHAOS, and Liz enjoyed band and journal-
ism activities.
Each enjoys her stay here and will have
many fond memories to take home.
Liz, Patricia, Anja, Anne and a friend, Betty from Spain, settle into life in Lake City. Here they gather for a group
shot near a downtown lake.
Outside the SO's cafe at Universal Studio's Rusty Adams, Liz Dunn, Patricia Tarifa and Anja Petersen get a glimpse of Walking down the hallowed halls of CHS Patri-
what America was like. cia turns and smiles for the camera. How's
American life so far?
