'The Merry-Go Round"
                                                 by Myra Cohn Livingston
The merry-go round whirls round and round in giant
circles on the ground. The horses run an exciting race,
while the wind blows music in your face. The whole
world spins to a colored tune, but the ride is over
much too soon. And we look forward to our merry-go-
                                                    round of the future.

                                                    We love you boys!

                                    For Mike Stalvey
If I had my life to live over, I'd dare to make more
mistakes next time. I'd relax. I would limber up. I
would be sillier than 1 have been this trip. I would
take fewer things seriously. I would take more
chances. I would take more trips. I would climb
more mountains & swim more rivers. I would eat
more ice cream & less beans. I would go to more
dances. I would ride more merry-go-rounds. I would
pick more daisies. I'm one of those people who live
sensibly & sanely hour after hour, day after day.
I've had my moments & if I had it to do over again,
I'd have more of them. In fact, I'd try to have
nothing else. Just moments. Mike, have more
                                    moments, enjoy your dreams.
We love you, Mom & Dad

                                    "Risks" for Ronnie Edenfield
To dare. To laugh is to risk appearing the fool. To
weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To reach for
another is to risk involvement. To expose your
ideas, your dreams, before a crowd is to risk their
loss. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To
live is to risk dying. To believe is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken, because the greatest
hazard in life is to risk nothing. The people who
risk nothing, do nothing, are nothing. They may
avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn,
feel, change, grow, love, live. Chained by their
attitudes, they are slaves. They have forfeited
their freedom. Only a person who risks is free.

It is not because things are difficult that we do not
dare; it is because we do not dare that they are
difficult. Ronnie, take the dare, live life to the
fullest. We love you very much!!!!!
