HISTORY  OF  SENIOR  CLASS  1948-1949


           Four  years  aeo,  the  present  senior  class,  with  bright  ex-
     octant  faces,  entered  high  school.                        Of  the  twenty-one  fresh-
   ~en who  started  here  in  1945,  only  nine,  Virginia  Bussey,  Carl
   cason,  rack  McCormick,  Sarah  Lee  Porter,  Georgia  Mae  Rourks,
   Dewey  Lee,  John  Paul  Norris,  Harriet  Fry,  and  Sylvia  Vartanesian,
   have  remained  to  the  end.                 Laquita  Burnette  joined  us  this  year.


           our  sponsor  for  the  ninth  grade  was  Mrs.  Sarah  Wright;  our
   room  mother  was  ~rs.  Fannie  Bell  Niblack.


           Durlnf"  the  school  year~  ~rs.  Wright  gave  us  a  Christmas
   party.  Mrs.  Niblack,  our  room  mother,  gave  us  a  swimming  party
   at  Camp  O'Leano,  which  every  one  enjoyed.


           Carey  Teen  !1black  was  president  of  our  class  that  year..
   Harriet  Fry,  Vice-President,  Virginia  Bussey,  Secretary  ~ Treas-
   urer,  Emma  Dicks,  Reporter.


           After  a  pleasant  vacation,  we  entered  the  fall  sess ion
   again  as  ea  er  sophnmnres.                  During  our  vacation,  eleven  of  our
   cl1ssmates  had  drifted  on  to  other  places.


          Our  sponsor  that  year  was  Mrs.  Jones,  and  our  room  mother
   was  Mrs.  Taylor.

          During  that  term  Sylvia's  _,other  {~ave  us  a  Christmas  p~rtv
  whtch  we  all  enjoyed  very  much.


          Our  class  officers  that  y~_.,ar  were:                     Dewey  Lee,  Pr          iJ
  Sylvia  Vartanesian,  Vice-Presidtnt ,  Virginia  Bussey,
  & Treasurer,  Emma  Dicks,  Reporter.


          After  another  enjoyable  summer,  we  entered  school  as  sophis-
   ticated  Juniors.  This  was  another  year  whi ~ h we  enjoyed  to  the
  fullest  extent,  although,  we  regretted  tolose  another  slass·rnate,
  Emma  Dicks.


          Class  officers  this  year  were:                     Dewey  Lee,  Presiden  •  Car1
  Jason,  Vice-President,  Virginia  Bussey,  Treasurer,  and  Sarah  Lee
  Porter,  Secretary.


          During  the  year  we  had  a  skating  party  at  Yineral  Springs,
   tnd  a  swimming  party  at  Itchtuchnee  Springs.  At  both  parties
   re  had  a  very  nice  time.


          We  gave  a  most  successful  Junior-Senior  banquet  under  the
   1ponsorship  of  Mr.  Rider.  The  banquet  was  Hawaiian  style,  and
   ·~ decorations  were  breath-taking.
          Then  as  dignified  Seniors,  we  entered  school  again.  Our
   ponsor  wa~  again  Mr.  A.  L.  Rider;  our  room  motherswere  Mrs.  Norris
   nd  Mrs •  Pry.
