CL  SS  HISTORY




              In  1946, eighteen Freshmen entered upon  their high  school career.  Ten re-
         mamed through the years.  They were Evelyn Feagle, Clara Mae Vaughn,  Imogene
         Koon,  James  Carter,  Malcolm Hawkms,  "Bo"  Williams,  Robert Martm, Orb1e
         Wooley,  and Sybil  Marhn.  Dunng this year, a  new classmate jomed us, Helen
         Mock  The off1c  rs for  that year were:  Malcolm Hawkins,  President; James
         Carter, Vice-President; and  Clara MaeVaughn,Sccretary and Treasurer.  Our
         home room  teacher for  that year was  Mrs.  Mary Lamb.  During the year,  she
         gave us a  party which we all enjoyed very much.  As 1t  was  our first year m  high
         school, 1t  went by fast.


             After a  short vacation, we entered  school as Sophomores.  During the vacation,
         some of th  m  wandered off to some other place,  we know not where.  Helen  Mock
         dropped out at Christmas to be  married.  The officers for  that year were Orbie
         Wooley,  President; James Carter, Vice-President;  Evelyn Feagle, Secretary and
         Treasurer.  Our home  room teacher for that year was Mrs.  Jack Jones.  She  gave
         us  a  Christmas party which we all enjoyed very much.  Our home  room mother
         was Mrs.  Wooley.  She  gave  us  a  skating party at the end of school,  wh1ch  we
         all enJoyed.

             We  were off on another  vacation before we knew  It.  During the  vacation our
        class had decreased to five  girls and  six boys.  The  vacahon was over and we
         were back m  school as a  small class of Juniors.  The  teacher  for  that year was
        Miss Helen Branch.  The home  room mothers for this year were Mrs.  Koon  and
        Mrs  Carter.  They helped us  rruse money for the Juruor-Scnior banquet by giving
        a  supper.  The officers for that year were:  Paul Douberly,  President; James
        Carter, Vice-President; ClaraMae Vaughn,Sccretary; Joyce Terrell,  Treasurer.
        Everyone enjoyed a  party at  ltchtuchnee  Springs  this year.  By then school was
        out and we  were on our last vacation during high school.


            We  entered  school the  following fall as  dignified  Seniors.  Our home  room
        teacher was Mr. A.  L.  Rider.  As  we  were working hard on our class play,  "I<aith,
        Hope, and Flarity,"  the first  semester went by fast.  Syb1l  Martin dropp  d  out to
        get marrlCd, leaving us with only five  girls and  seven boys.  Then to our surprise,
        we  had another student from Lake Butler,  Leamon Dyal.  We are glad to have  him
        with  us.  We had several parties; one at the springs, at Chnstmas our home  room
        mothers,  Mrs.  Wooley and Mrs.  Koon, entertamed us  w1th  a  trip to the  show  in
        High Springs.  The Seniors arc going to have a  skit night and also give a  supper
        to  ra1se money for  the Senior day off.  The big event was the Junior-Senior Ban-
        quet which every one  enjoyed.  By this time graduation v,;as  here.  The speaker
        was  Mr.  Eldridge Collings,  former  graduate  and principal.
