               APPLE BREAD                                 JAH SPANDAU

               1/3 cup of shortening
               1 cup sugar
               1  egg
               2  cups flour
               1 tsp baking powder
               1/2 tsp baking soda
               1/2 tsp salt
               1/3 cup water
               1/4 cup chopped nuts (walnuts preferred)
               1 cup chopped apples

                      Cream shortening and sugar, add egg and water, mix, add
               flour, baking powder, soda and salt, mix well. Fold in
               apples and nuts. Put into bread pans. Bake 45 minutes at
               350 degrees, check at 30 minutes (it’s usually done)







               BUTTER BISCUITS                            ELIZABETH GRIFFIN

               2 cups self-rising flour
               2 sticks butter (softened)
               1 8 oz sour cream

                      Mix butter and sour cream. Add flour, mix. Use small
               cupcake tins, fill tins full. Bake 30 minutes at 350
               degrees. Makes 24








               GRANDMA JOHNSON’S CORNBREAD MEGAN MILLER

               1 cup milk
               1  egg
               1/4 oil or melted shortening
               2/3 cup sifted flour
               3/4 cup cornmeal
               2  tablespoons sugar
               1/2 tsp salt
               3  tsp baking powder
                      Beat milk, egg, and oil together until blended. Add
               dry ingredients until smooth. Pour in 8 x 8 x 2 greased
               pan. Bake 425 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Excellent to
               use for turkey or chicken dressing.
