pass up an opportunity to have some fun with us, and I think all
sincerely enjoyed their jobs. Thank you Gentlemen for giving of your
time and efforts for us. Sure it was your job, a job and a career
chosen wisely. Most of us boys didn't realize at the time how much
you gave to us, time, interest in our learning, fatherly advice and a
willingness to put your whole heart into it. Even after we moved to
Hamilton County, I still went back to Columbia County and
participated in their 4-H program, because we didn't have one at
White Springs. This way I could keep up with a lot of friends around
Lake City as I went on a lot of trips with them. A big thank you to
my family for supporting me in my 4-H activities over the years, it
meant a lot to me to have their support. When Papa first began to
seriously think of selling and moving he contacted Mr. Watson to come
out and appraise the land. The day he came out, he was still there
when I came home from school, and I knew he was not there to see me
about 4-H but it was adult business. I was not real happy about the
idea of moving away from the place I loved so much. I was too young
to have much to say about the matter.
