                                           Golde Dicks Markham

                 Mrs. Golde Dicks Markham, 87, of Lake City, died Monday, May 27, 1996, in the
           Alachua General1 Hospital, Gainesville, Florida.
                 Mrs. Markham had resided in Lake City and Columbia County all of her life and was
           the daughter of the late Rev. John andl Pearl Tyre Dicks and the widow of the late C. Eric

           Markham. She owned Markham Nursery and also owned and operated with her late husband
           the People’s Hardware Company in Lake City, Florida, for many years. Mrs. Markham was a
           member of the Hopeful Baptist Church of Lake City, was Past Matron of Minnie Lee Lodge

           of the Order of the Eastern Star, andt a member of the Past Matron and Patron Club.
                 Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Dan Booz, Lake City; two
           sisters, Emerald Stewart and Fay Gay Meek, both of Lake City; three brothers: Tribble J.
           Dicks, DeLand, Florida; Lenvil H. Dicks and Rodney S. Dicks, both of Lake City, Florida;
           three grandchildren: Benjamin Eric Booz of Lhasa, Tibet; Valerie Kauth of Powder Springs,

           Georgia; and Bonnie Booz of Lake City; and two great-grandsons.
                 Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 1996, in the
           Hopeful Baptist Church with Reverend Rick McCall, pastor, officiating and assisted by Mr.

           Ben Booz. Interment will be in Hopeful Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.,
           Tuesday at Gerry Funeral Home, 4309 South First Street, Lake City, Florida.
