Education.
A Ton of Trivia
June 1,1993
Baseball Talk
The recent NAIA Division II national poll had a distinctive Lake City flavor. Flagler
College, led by our Brett Adams, finished eleventh in the nation. University of West Florida, where
our Keith Jackson plays, was ranked twelfth. And from Huntington College in Montgomery,
Alabama, our Ben Brack recently hit his second grand slam home run of this season, giving him
eleven homers for the year.
Football Talk
Three 1993 CHS seniors will be heading for Division I colleges on football scholarships:
Reinard Wilson (FSU), Yatil Green (Miami), and Antonio Bradwell (Louisville). Can anybody
remember the last time CHS has sent three football players to Division 1 school in one year?
Giving Credit
Give credit to school superintendent Dianne Lane and her staff for their work in getting the
old CHS building on West Duval Street nominated for listing in the National Register of Historic
Places. This mean the building will be preserved and the exterior must remain essentially unchanged
— great news for all of us who attended school there and care for its preservation.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Betty Dicks of Eastside Elementary School, who was recently selected
as the 1992-93 non-instructional Employee of the year for our school system. Previous winners:
Norma Smith (CHS), Janice Fowler (Ft. White) and Jonnie Harrington (Niblack).
