Some Stuff I Wrote (2001) H. Morris Williams

                                                       All About Women
Irma Cannon has just completed her twenty-eighth year as director of the First Methodist

Church pre-school program. Has there ever been a more loving and caring person? Just perfect for
                 her work!

Maureen Williamson was the CHS Teacher of the Year in 1992. Bettye Lane won the same
honor in 1993. Both of these fine teachers are retiring this year. What a loss but we wish them both

                 the best in their retirement.
CHS senior Christie Simmons wrote the words and music to the 1993 CHS class song, the

poignant and beautiful “Here We Are”.
The Fouraker reunion, held at Bethel Church near Fargo, featured a “baking contest.” The

winner: Who else? Frances Fouraker Baker!.
CHS graduate Tronna Ausgood has just graduated from the FAMU/FSU School of Pharmacy,

with honors, and plans to work for Eckerds or return to graduate school.
Pam and Karen Moore are the twin daughters of Lake City’s Marion Moore. They are in the
                 Double-Mint chewing gum TV commercial.

                                                           Ester Reed
Ester Reed was a popular CHS teacher in the 1940s who died last week at Dowling Park.

She was known for bringing her classroom material to life - and for her great sense of humor — and
for taking her students’ humor in good stride. Example: Once she asked student George Heatherly

to use the word “siesta” in a sentence. George said, “I come to school everyday just to ‘siesta’
                 Reed.”
