Charter of the City of Lake City
shall receive bids for the purchase of said bonds,
or any part of the same thereof, on or before the 21/257
expiration of sixty (60) days from the date of
publication. The City Council shall have the
right to reject any or all bids and re-advertise
the bonds, or any portion of the same, remaining
unsold.
Sec. 40. A bank or banks, or other depository,
to be designated by the Council, shall receive and
be custodian of said bonds and all money arising
from the sale of said bond or bonds.
Sec. 41. The City Council shall advertise for
bids for work to be done for which bids are issued,
making contracts with the lowest responsible bid
der, who shall himself give bond for the faithful
performance of his work, but the said board shall
have the right to reject any or all bids received;
they shall personally, or through proper agents,
select all material and have full supervision and
charge of the carrying out of the work for which
bonds are issued, and shall audit all accounts con
nected with such work, and pay the same by check
on the bank or depository handling the proceeds
of the sale of said bonds, which said check shall be
invalid unless signed by at least two members of
the City Council, countersigned by the President
of the Council, and shall be so worded.
*Sec. 42. The entire issue of bonds, or such
portion thereof as the Mayor and Council may deem
proper, may be sold and converted into money at
one time.
Sec. 43. In the event there is remaining in the
bank or banks, or other depository, an unexpended
