The B1ll Sheely F.F.A. chapter was first organized m September 1949, with Rodney Dicks acting as
first pres1dent. This new chapter was organized because of the large enrollment of the Vocational
Agriculture Dept. \.Vith two chapters the members have an opportunity for more participation in
various contests, thus developing character, leadership, as well as a sense of competition within the
department.

The Chapter name - Bill Sheely - was selected as a tribute to one of our Columbia County F. F. A.
boy who gave i life 111 t te service of his country during World War II. Blll Sheely was an outstand-
ing Future Farmer as well as a fine student.
