Taming the Tornados
from Starke, (Home-
coming Tilt) was the
fifth job for the Tigers.
And that they did. On
to Gainesville ... Al-
though Tigers were hit
hard by injuries receiv-
ed during previous
games, the Gainesville
Hurricanes were con-
trolled. But then, Leon
stepped in, halting the
Tiger's unbeaten streak
by a score of 12-6.
Even though this ruined
the record, Lake City
still had another strike
at the N. E. C. cham-
pionship .
. . . sprinting toward the goal. ..
Ball
... better luck next time .•.
After taking Perry and Paxon,
our Tigers battled with Live Oak,
as the decisive game for the
title. A crowd of over 5, ooo
witnessed a game that will long
be remembered. The Bulldogs
took the championship by one
point. Even the best sometimes
lose.
So ended another season for
the "Fight•n Tigers" .•• A team
that knows how to win, and how
to face defeat.
