Band Beats Out Winning Rhythms

Strike up the band! Philadelphia was
where the action took place. Band
members and supporters worked
hard all summer with carnivals, car
washes, candy sales, and many other
money making activities, but it was
worth it. Florida and Columbia
County had something to be proud
of when the Marching Band of Lake
City paraded in the Gimbles
Thanksgiving Day Parade in
Philadelphia. The band kept the
spirit going in pep rallies and foot-
ball games. This is not where the ac-
tion stopped, the band participated
in contests at Florida Field and re-
ceived superior rating in the 4A
class. Being invited to several con-
certs for marching and symphonic
has kept everyone in the band busy.
Mr. Hentzelman, Columbia Senior
High School's new band director has
succeeded in making the band
march and play in an accomplished
manner.
