junior ROTC combines training for
leadership with academic prepara-
tion for the future. JROTC is spon-
sored by the United States Army for
the development of High School
students. Performance of only the
highest standards are expected from
these students on and off campus. A
full credit is received for the comple-
tion of a year of this program. A vari-
ety of subjects are offered in JROTC
such as Hygiene, First Aid,
Weapons, Safety and Marksman-
ship, these are just a small portion of
the opportunities a student has.
JROTC began for Columbia County
in 1974 and has contributed in mak-
ing respectable citizens for the soci-
ety. jROTC helps to develop a stu-
dent into a total person with an un-
derstanding of self discipline, and to
instill a love of country and pride in
its accomplishments.
