J.R.O.T.C.-
JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICERS
J.R.O.T.C. is a cooperative
TRAINING CORPS program between the Army and
Columbia High School. The purpose
of the program is to provide
secondary school students
opportunities for leadership
development in the interest of
national security. Junior R.O.T.C.
curricu lum supplements high
school curriculum . Citizenship and
leadership are emphasized in each
year of the program. J.R.O.T.C.
develops self-discipline,
self-confidence, and the respect of
their peers are sources of pride to
young men and women. The abi lity
to motivate and lead others is
stressed . Extracurricular activities
include drill teams, honor and color
guards, military bands, drum and
bugle corps, and rifle teams. 2. The
leaders of J.R.O.T.C. are Colonel
Thomas, SGT. Atkinson, and Sgt.
Mansfield. 3. The J.R.O.T.C. color
guards are shown here leading the
Homecoming parade.
