The Columbia High Tigers rose to
the occasion at the Gateway Con-
ference Jamboree. Quarterback
Kelly Lowrey was assisted in the
backfield by Tommy Young and
Marshall Wilson, Allen Blair was out
with an injury. The drive really
started when Tommy Young broke
through the Jackson line for a 50
yard run. Several times Kelly Lowrey
passed to his wide receivers Terry
Staten and Dean Williams. The Ti-
gers slowly inched their way to the
goal line. On a quarterback keeper,
Kelly Lowrey lunged for the Tigers
score. Tommy Young lined up at the
kicking position for injured Paul
Johnson. On the fumbled extra
point attempt, holder Dean Williams
rolled out to his left and floated one
into Jay Milton's arms for two. The
Tigers held their lead and caged
Jackson 's Tigers 8-0.
