JROTC staff

JROTC is a program that has a lot
going for young men and women
who want to get the most out of
their high school years. The cultiva-
tion of citizenship, leadership, char-
acter building, and self-confidence,
vital to both civilian and military pur-
suits, are the basic program objec-
tives. Much of the experience and
instruction just isn't available any
other way at the high school level.
The ability to motivate and lead oth-
ers is stressed and the respect of
their peers are sources of pride to
young men and women . Com-
petitive activities include drill teams,
honor and color guards, rifle teams,
and drum and bugle corps. Enroll-
ment in the program does not re-
quire any obligation for the future
military service, however full college
scholarships and competitive acad-
emy appointments are available
through this program.
