It Didn't Rain on Our Parade
Despite a stormy, rainy afternoon, Graduation took place at Memorial Stadium, June 4, 1990,
8:00 pm. The gray skies cleared in time for everyone to take their assigned positions on the
field. Marching was done in time to the tune everyone had been humming for weeks ... "Pomp
and Circumstance". The Seniors special night had finally come after 13 long years . Many out
of town guests, proud family members, and the curious all gathered to fill up both sides of the
field to support and honor the Class of 90. High Honor Graduates Donna Faye McNeill and
Julie Diane McNeill were inspiring speakers. They represented an all time first as identical
twins, even their grade point averages! The purple robes and mortarboards stood out against
the green of the stadium grass . Many students wore extra cords and stoles signifying academic
achievement. In spite of a smoke bomb and a beachball , the program was nicely done and well
received by the audience. A special thank you to Mrs. Orr, senior sponsor and coordinator of
the ceremony. This night cannot be forgotten.
