Columbia High Wrestling ... Pins to Win

Columbia High's wrestling team has had a great year with
many new members and has enjoyed many wins. Last year left the
wrestlers with a 2-13 record and this year's team has left a 9-6
record. The team participated in the Kiwanis Christmas
Tournament at Forrest High where Daniel Hicks and Jason Lang
placed third and Senior Ken Hammett placed fourth. At the
Wakulla Tournament in Wakulla, Daniel Hicks received a
second place win, and Ken Hammett and Ryan Terry placed
fourth. The team also won the District Competition for the first
time in the history of CHS wrestling. Bringing home first place
wins were, Matt Gray, Daniel Hicks, and Ken Hammett. This
young team has overcome many setbacks and has shown great
potential for the years to come.
