Girl's State
"I had the honor of being voted as Governor of Girl's State from a
total of 300 other girls whom I had never met beforehand. First, I
was voted as the governor candidate from my party in the
Primary Election, and then I went on to the General Election in
which each student in both parties submitted votes. I wrote and
presented many speeches, answered on the spot questions, and
campaigned extensively. I had the opportunity to veto or pass
mock bills, resolve a mock disaster that had hit our state, and was
able to meet and speak with the Governor and Lieutenant
Governor as well as have pictures taken with each of them. My
experience was wonderful! I made many new friends from all
accross Florida and I learned so much about government
