First United Methodist Church and today, under the vibrant leadership of
Pastor Louie Mabry, the church is growing by leaps and bounds.
SMALL TALK
Four year old James was listening to his Dad read a Bible story: “A man
named lot was warned to take his wife and flee outside the city but Lot’s
wife turn back and was turned to salt.”
James said, “Too bad about Lot’s wife but what happened to the flea?”
SCHOOL POEM
When I’m dead and in my grave
No more science will I crave
On my tombstone I want wrote
This old science has got my goat.
WATCH YOUR STEP
Sign on the back of a farmer’s horse and buggy: “Energy efficient vehicle.
Runs on oats and grass. Caution! Do not step in the exhaust.
WITCHCRAFT
Long ago when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks it was called
witchcraft. Today it is called golf!

WHY OH WHY
Why does it take such a short time for a child who is afraid of the dark to
become a teenager who wants to stay out all night?
