                  1928:  Mason School became a high school.



                  1934;  Richardson High School graduates become first
                  in county to wear caps and gowns.



                  1941-45: Twelve CHS graduates killed in World War II.



                  1950: Melrose Elementary opens



                  1954: Five Points Elementary opens.



                  1958: Last graduation class at Mason High School.



                  1959: New CHS on Pennsylvania Avenue opens. Also
                  Eastside Elementary.



                  1962:  Mason school building closes.



                  1964: Summers Elementary opens



                  1969:  Fort White High School closes.



                  1970: Richardson High School closes



                  1975:  New CHS on 441  South opens.



                  1989:  CHS graduates its 100th class.



                  1998:  Richard H. Anders retires after 50 consecutive
                  years with the school system as teacher, coach, and

                  School Board member.
