Some Stuff I Wrote and Some Stuff I Didn't (2011) H. Morris Williams
A JEWISH AFFAIR
Moishe goes to his friend Shlomo and says, I am having an affair with the rabbi's wife,
and we want to make love. Can you do me a favor and keep him at the synagogue one
more hour after the service?"
Samuel is a bit annoyed by this request, but as Moishe is his longtime friend, he finally
accepts.
After the service, Shlomo begins the conversation with the rabbi, and asks him plenty
of stupid and ridiculous questions to occupy him.
Eventually, the wise rabbi becomes suspicious, and ends up asking Shlomo what's
the point of all his uninteresting questions.
Then, taken with remorse and guilt, Shlomo finally confesses to him:
'The point is this, Rabbi; my friend is now making love with your wife, who is his
mistress, and he asked me to keep you busy for an hour.
The rabbi smiles, and placing his hand on his congregant's shoulder, says.
"If I were you, Shlomo, I would hurry back home. My wife died two years ago.
