Some Stuff I Wrote and Some Stuff I Didn't (2011) H. Morris Williams
and Shirley-a tremendous tribute to Reverend Dampier’s illustrious
career.
*Reverend Jackson Cannon of Lulu Baptist Church has announced that an
anonymous donor has given $50,000 to his church’s building fund in
memory of longtime church member Merrill Edward Williams who died
February 10. Reverend Cannon and Merrill were close personal friends so
the pastor was particularly touched at this generous and heartfelt
donation.
*This Reverend Donald Freeman and his daughter Regina claim a local
education distinction. They were the first Father-Daughter graduates at
Lake City Community College. They graduated together and LCCC
President Dr. Herbert Phillips stopped the graduation ceremony to give
them special recognition and award them their AA degrees at the same
time.
Reverend Freeman has preached in virtually every Baptist church in this
area and he is an enormously beloved man of God. Although his Father-
Daughter honor happened some 25 years ago, it still fits very much into
the theme of happy times for local Baptist preachers.
By the way, all of these veteran ministers are still wonderful preachers
and here’s hoping they will continue their ministries as long as health will
permit.
