Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls Nancy Beard
Cook until done in large skillet:
2 lbs. ground beef
1 large onion chopped
1 clove garlic chopped
Add:
1 small head chopped cabbage
2 cans (14.5 oz. each) diced tomatoes
2 cans (8 oz each) tomato sauce
V2 cup water
1 cup Minute Rice
Salt and pepper
Biing to boil. Cover and simmer until cabbage is tender.
Five Bean Main Dish Linda Schenavar
1 lb. lean ground beef 1 medium onion (Vidalia if possible)
4-5 slices of bacon % cup chopped green pepper
Brown ground beef with onion and green pepper. Fry bacon and break into pieces.
In pan combine:
1 can light red kidney beans (drained)
1 can garbanzo beans (chick peas) (drained)
1 can lima beans (drained)
1 can butter beans (drained)
1 can pork and beans (do not drain)
% cup light brown sugar
% cup ketchup (Heinz)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp dry mustard
Special sauce to taste (Pick-a-peppa, Jamaican sauce, 2 tsp. to 1 Tbsp.)
(Pick-a-peppa available at Publix, Winn Dixie, Harveys and through other grocers)
Add ground beef mixture and bacon pieces. Mix well.
Bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
