Baseball is a thinking man's game.
Unlike many sports, it requires both
athletic skill and intelligence. The
Columbia Senior High School Tiger
Baseball Team used both brain and
brawn to compile a 17-7 record, the
best in years. Seniors played a key
role, filling most of the positions,
sparking the team onward. Seniors
playing in the usual lineup were: 1B
Robin Green, SS Donald johns, 3B
Lamar Williams, LF jimmy
Thompsen, CF Mike Kahlich C Mark
Brown. Another Senior, Frank Giam-
pico, saw a lot of action in the out-
field. Starting juniors were: 2B
Timmy Russell, RF Mike Bergman.
Awards were given to Mike Kahlich
(most valuable player), Robin Green
(most improved), and Mike Bergman
(highest batting average).
