If you have ever happened by Columbia High School late at night, you
might have heard someone creeping up the stairs, perhaps a blood
curdling scream; even termites knawing at the wood. If you saw lightning
flash or ghost haunting the halls there was no need to worry. You have
just witnessed the horrible sight of the publications staff trying to meet a
deadline. There in the CHS dungeon we slave driving editors whipped
staffers to last minute copy typing and picture taking. Don't be surprised
if you heard screams of delight as 30 released prisoners make their get
away.
Now that the last deadline has been met, we hope you will enjoy these
memories as much as we have agonized over them.
We would like to thank Paul Roy Studios and Delmar Studios for their
lightening fast pictures. You helped relieve the pressure when the pres-
sure was on! A special thanks from the Sports Section to The Lake City
Reporter and Baas Studios for conjuring up complete information and
pictures from our Tiger Football games. Thanks to Jerry Fields our year-
book representative, for eternal information, advice, and support. Much
appreciation to Mrs. Kay Dekle, for miraculous understanding and nu-
merous early dismissals. As for Mr. Ellis we reserve thanks until the year-
book is paid for and the lectures are over. (Mr. Ellis tried his best to make
us all economic majors. Fooled you didn't we?) Thank you teachers for
maximum patience, and tolerance, but minimum homework and test.
Mrs. Harrison, what can we say. Believe it or not you are appreciated. We
know the whole class gave you alot of nightmares. Thanks for being a
super advisor.
An emphatic thanks to the fifth period publications glee club; Dean Wil-
liams, Richard Collins, Joe Morrison, and Darren Hollifield. They spent
unlimited energy in getting out of work. Thanks to Alisa Giebeig, and
Becki Thomas for their much called upon artistic talents, and to Paula
Lackey for correcting all our errors of grammar which she learned in
Dear Abby. (She corrected this letter ain't she done her job good!)
Last and least we thank the rest of our questionable staff who surprised
us and came through everytime.
We have enjoyed being co-editors and hope you have enjoyed this issue
of the Columbian.
Sincerely,
