The Columbia High Tennis Team had an
excellent year under the "New" Coach,
Earl Hill. With only one loss the whole
season, the team finished the year as
CONFERENCE CHAMPS!!! This was the
first time a boys' tennis team at Columbia
High has accomplished this. The most in·
tense match was against Fletcher. The
team struggled, but they came out on top
with a 4·3 victory! The boys also did very
well in District competition. This time
Fletcher had David Witt, one of the na-
tion's top junior players. Andy Creel had
to play him in the finals and played a great
match, but Fletcher prevailed. The boys
placed second.
