Working I
As the cost of living increases day to day,
teens are forced to seek work. Although the
work is hard and the hours are long these work-
ing teens enjoy it and look forward to meeting
interesting people on their jobs.
One of the many hard working teens, Kimber-
ly Stewart proves you can hold down a job and
lead an exciting special life too. She somehow
balances her job, is student council president,
the tiger mascot, dance club president, a mem-
ber of the executive committee, has an A-B
average and is in Beta Club. Her efforts serve
as an example to all. She has proved to be an
excellent role model for everyone.
Sonya VanVleck is a hostess at Burger King.
Stle is also a wonderful student, she has a
good disposition and does not let the hard
hours she works interfere with her friendliness.
Renee Patterson works at Dominos. She en-
joys her job because during her extra time she
is allowed to work on homework. She finds her
grades and her education dominate over the
importance of her job.
These are just a few of the hundreds of work-
ing students at Columbia High that increase
their education while they enhance the commu-
nity with their efforts.
Sonya VanVleck shows us one of the many tasks she must
perform as a Burger King hostess, talking on the phone: but
we know this is more of a pleasure.
Paul Ratliff, John Robertson, Tommie Milligan, Kevin John·
son, Andy Witt, David Crossby, and Todd Mollard help wtth
construction of the new sidewalk.
Students also work with clubs at school. Everett Gill and
Chris Waldron are hard at work setting up for the Science
Fair with Chaos.
