Time Out
Speaking before a large group is not easy, but Key Club secretary Marianne McGuinness pulls it off like a
charm.
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday . maybe .. maybe not. Graduation marks the end of
an era. It marks the end of our high school careers, but it also signifies the beginning of the rest of
our lives. Throughout the years, there have definitely been conflicts, fights, and bad words
exchanged. That all comes with high school . . it is a part of what high school is all about. But,
with the bad comes the good. We all should have learned that we are responsible for ourselves. If we
can come away from high school with an open mind and a clear conscience, we have gained an
understanding that comes with growing up. It's called maturity. Some of us may not see each other
again until our ten-year reunion, so let's make our last words and thoughts be as friends, not
enemies. Let's show each other that we have learned and that we are senior friends. We must
graduate, not only from high school, but to a higher level of life. An adult way of thinking. Believe
it or not, that's what we'll be considered from now on. It might be hard to say goodbye to yesterday,
but with saying goodbye, we get to say hello to tomorrow.
