.••. The Broncos were "Welcomed to the
Jungle" with a 42~3 thrashing at the hands of
the Tigers. This victory clinched a playoff
spot for the Tigers and gave them a 7~2
record (3-0 dist.). However, the district title
was up for grabs next week as Orange Park
came to town sporting a similar 3-0 district
record. The winner of this game was the
district champion and earned a first-round
playoff game at home. The Raiders took a 7-0
lead early on, but it was all Tigers from that
point on. With a 27-14 victory, CHS won the
district championship and ran their all-time
district 2-6A record to 8-0 with two
undefeated seasons. The Tigers now hosted
Pensacola Washington in the nrst round uf
the state playoffs. CHS had good reason to be
      optimistic about their chances against
      Washington; the Wildcats had been

season and further established themselves as
one of Florida's elite high school football
     programs.
