Boys' and Girls' State

Jennifer Douglas (r .) and

more relaxing side of
Girls' state.

The third week of summer. Mark Vanzant.
Collin Lane. Matt Vann. Juan Sierra. and
Adam Brown attended Boys' State.
Attending Girls' State were Jennifer Douglas,
Summer Sapp. and Karla white. The annual
combined event, held at Florida State
University. was sponsored by the American
legion. The primary purpose of the
convention Is to introduce young men and
women to governmental procedures
ranging from city to legislature operations.
When the week was over, the Girls and
Boys Staters had been given a chance of a
lifetime to experience first hand just what it
takes to efficiently run the state.

Jennifer Douglas held the office of Lieutenant Governor this past
summer In Tallahassee.
