Var ity Boys' occer team had an injury-filled, but strong season. Led by former JV
boys soccer coach, T.D. Jenkins, the Tiger had a strong season. With twelve seniors on the
team, the team surely had experience. Led by enior captains, Greg Welder and Gordon Ellis,
the team started off with dreadful days of conditioning. The heat was scorching but the soccer
players kept going. With hard work produced for the upcoming season, the Tigers knew how
much hard work was needed to have a succe sful year. Full of eniors and junior , coach T.D.
Jenkins knew there was talent in the team. In a new district with powerhouses like Lincoln
and Leon, and successful Ridgeview and Clay, the Tigers surely had their work cut out for
them. As the season moved on, the team progressed with each game. The Tigers started
winning more and more games, gaining confidence for the district games to come.
