Key Club is a service organization that is sponsored
by the Kiwanis. Key Club primarily supports anything that
helps children. Our main area is to help children either by
reading to them and mentioning to them.
Key Club has so far had fun and exciting year and
is expecting it to get better as the year goes on. Many
activities that were started two years ago are now
considered key Club tradition and expected out of the
club to do. Some of the traditions are Thanksgiving Day
baskets, Think Sharp, and helping with the Beta Club
Christmas Party. Over seven hundred cans were raised
this year for the baskets. The students either designated
their cans as Seminoles or Gators, in which the Seminoles
won this year. With the cans we managed to make twelve
baskets for the families or Columbia High School. One
new and exciting activity was P. U. T. (Parents Uniting
Together) which holds a carnival for elementary age
children. This year they asked the clubs of Columbia
High School to help hold this event. The organization
donated all of their proceeds to the clubs and the money
was distributed evenly. The money that was donated
was then used to buy presents for the needy children of
Columbia County. The presents were given to the two
little girls during the Beta Christmas Party. All in all o
year has been very productive and we hope to continue
