My name is Nat. I'm 17 years old.l am an exchange student from Thailand. I stay with Ms.
Quillen and Tori. I came to America on July 25, 2004. First I came to Georgia for orientation with
another foreign exchange students before I came to Florida. One week later, I started going to
Columbia High School, where I met a lot of cool friends. High School here is very different from
my country. At my school, students don't walk for a change of class. We have our own room and
teachers walk to change a class. But I like it here better. My school is private convent school.
Here I have to take 6 subjects per year but at my school we have to take 15 subjects per year. My
school goes 7.45am.- 4.50pm. We have 8 periods per day. I don't like it. I learn a lot of subjects
in one day, it makes me feel stupid and confused. I learned English 6 years ago in my school but
it was just one period per day. People here are friendly and nice. I make friends here, they're so
sweet. My friends always tell me about American culture. I have learned a lot of American culture.
This is my first time to stay without my family and friends for a long time. I alway miss them and
Thai food. American food is very different from Thai food. Thai foods are very spicy and we eat
rice everyday. American foods are not spicy and it make me fat! Thats too bad but I really like
American food. Miss Quillen and Tori are a good host family for me. I'm lucky to stay with them.
I'm so happy that I got a good host family. Now, I've been here for six months and I just have four
more months left before I'll go back to Thailand .. Of course, I have learned much more English but
I think it is not enough for me. I want to stay here in next school year. I think my English has
improved since I arrived here. I have a lot of fun and it has been a good experience. I like to teach
and say something in my language with my friends. And I think th like to hear it. I have a good
relationship with them. Thank you to my
                                                                                       host family,
                                                                                       teachers, and
                                                                                       friends, for
                                                                                       everything, you've
                                                                                       helped me and
                                                                                       made this year
                                                                                       wonderful. I'll stay
                                                                                       in touch.
