Twitter Goes Public
The seven-year-old soc1al media site, Tw1tter, went public 1n
November 2013. Its init1al Public Offenng (IPO) had a closing
value of $44.90 on the first day of tradmg. Twitter's IPO produced
high demand desp1te the fact that the company isn't expected to
generate profit unt1l 2015 or 201 6.

Viral Videos
YouTube released 1ts top 10 trending videos of 2013. "What does
the Fox Say" video by Ylvis was the top viral video this year with
more than 275 million views.

Jonas Brothers Break-Up
Weeks after cancellmg the1r 19-clty tour, the Jonas Brothers
decided to call1t qu1ts, "for now," on their family band.
The trio unanimously came to their decision and announced
1t to fans in October 2013. Middle brother, Joe, stated "We
decided it was best to fin1sh this and support each other and
our own ventures down the way."
