                             Assisting  ISSP  with  invasive  plant  removal.  like  the  showy  rattle  box  plants:
                             [co-garden  growing  of  lettuce  to  feed  Suzie  and  Sally.  the  box  turtles;

                                          Learning  about  florida· s  native  birds  and  participating  in  the  Nahonal  Audobon
                                          Society's  Nahonal  .. ~ackyard ~ird Count  Day"  1n  february.  L[Ak:'  students

                                          donated  a  ~Oib. bag  of  bird  seed  to  the  new  fort  While  library's  Nature
                                           Center  being  developed  behind  the  library  for  the  community  to  enjoy.
                                                  Developing  and  producing  educational  materials  on  water  conservation,

                                           gopher  tortoise  preservahon.  recycling.  games  and  activities  for  our  ~th gra
                                            [arlh  Day  ~uddy-Up Program  in  May  and  other  projects.



                                                  Assishng  ISSP  with  the  "~opher Tortoise  Tracking"  Program  wilh1n
                                             the  Park  on  March  2 )rd.  This  project  is  in  year  2.

                                                  On Saturday.  May  7 I h.  L[Ak:'  students  participate  in  the  Annual  Al-

                                             ligator  Lake  festival  promohng  our  fW  Parknership  Program  and  educating
                                              the  public  about  nature's  resources.
                                                  As  part  of  our  fort  While  "~o ~reen" Project.  L[Ak:'  students  parl-

                                              nenng  with  the  fW  ffA  to  plant  native  trees  on  our  school  grour.1ds.

                      [vent  in  the  fall.  A  spee~al achv1ly  IS  "Toss  the  Can"
                      Students  dedicate  one  Saturday  a  month  to  work  on  various  projects.   They  work  every  morn-

                     ing  before  school  taking  care  of  the  animals.  collec ling  recycling  materials.  taking  care  of  the .
                      [co-garden  boxes,  picking  up  trash  and  litter  and  prepanng  materials  for  special  projects.  This  is

                      a  wonderful  way  to  help  prolec I and  prese    natural  resources.  as  well  as  give  back  to  the
                      community  through  service  learning.
