Some Stuff I Wrote and Some Stuff I Didn't (2011) H. Morris Williams
Marie’s Miracle
Concerning Marie Law Haire: Her own testimony
Dear Mr. Williams,
In your letter, you asked about my thoughts regarding John Talley’s testimony
about his healing experience.
How thoughtful of others he was to share that testimony. I do believe in God’s
healing power and can appreciate everything that John shared about his beliefs and
his healing.
I also believe that God sometimes heals us through doctors to whom He gave the
brains and the stamina to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to bring about
the healing. In addition, I believe that one’s attitude (sense of peace which, I
believe, comes only from God) aids in the healing process.
Though I’ve been a witness to others’ healing experiences, I have also had my own
personal experiences.
In October 2011,1 had a complete thyroidectomy, and at the same time, one inch
of my left internal jugular vein was removed and the remaining part of the vein
was sealed off.
When the doctor came to the hospital to see me the day after my surgery, he told
me what was involved in the surgery. When he told me about the jugular vein
procedure, he said, “This was the first time that my partner and I ever performed
that kind of surgery on a jugular vein.”
My first thought was, “Wow!” My next reaction was to silently thank God for a
doctor who had the brains, skills and knowledge to successfully perform that kind
of surgery.
My diagnosis following the surgery was “papillary carcinoma.” Two days
following my release from the hospital, I had to return to the hospital for another
seven days due to pulmonary embolism and a blood clot on my leg.
Concurrently with all of the aforementioned difficulties, I also experienced partial
seizures.
