Some Stuff I Wrote and Some Stuff I Didn't (2011) H. Morris Williams
Johnson came through on the big plays all evening and was rarely
touched by the Aubumdale rush. He hit on three straight passes that
were instrumental in the Tigers first touchdown, later fired a 27-yarder
on fourth down to set up the second TD, and hit on a 47-yarder that
produced a third TD.
Lake City scored the first time it had its hands on the ball as Johnson led
the Tigers 86 yards in 13 plays. Johnson climaxed the drive with a
twisting 11-yard touchdown run.
Aubumdale came back though to tie the game when the Bloodhounds
went 82 yards in 12 plays with quarterback Will Eagleson going the
final five.
A gamble that failed and Johnson’s nifty throwing put Lake City ahead
13-6 at halftime.
On fourth down Aubumdale fullback-linebacker-punter Mickey Oliver
ran the ball from punt formation but failed to gain the first down and
Lake City took over on the Aubumdale 35.
On fourth down and seven Johnson wound up and hit Greene with a 27-
yarder putting the ball at the three. Two plays later he plunged over for
the score.
