                 THANKSGIVING THANKS TO LELIA WILLIAMS

I want to express early Thanksgiving thanks to Lelia Williams who does her part
and more to preserve local Black history.

Lelia, a graduate of the old all-black Richardson High School, treasures black
history and she is always on the lookout for photos and other memorabilia from
                  the old days.

Before her days at RHS, Lelia also attended the old Springville Rosenwald
School and has a special interest in that school’s history. Two weeks ago Lelia
donated four excellent photos of her two former schools to our School Museum,
                  as follows:

                     1. Eight Richardson High School bus drivers from 1957-58 standing with Mr.
                         G. W. Ellis, RHS principal. Four drivers pictured are Joe Harris, Lester
Taylor, Pearl Tolbert, and Lula Bowles. Nine school busses and RHS are
                         in the background.

                     2. The seven members of the Springville Rosenwald girls state basketball
champions of 1949-50, standing with Mr. Martin Ferguson, school
                         principal. (Two different group poses)

                     3. The Springville Rosenwald School Choir in 1948-49.

Many thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to Lelia for her valuable support of our
                  School Museum.
