By contrast, the CHS win enthralled Lake City, and the Tigers
went on to a successful season and then played in their first bowl
game, the Jaycee Bowl in Panama City. The Panama City team won
that game, 7 - 0, but CHS fans long remembered that great season.

Air Mail service in Lake City
After World War II air mail service put Lake City in touch
with much of the world. Included in this 1947 inaugural service
photo are, from left to right, county attorney Joe Ferguson,
businessman O.K. Holmes, and Mayor Grady Cochran.
