Candlestick House, located at 813 North Hernando Street,
is now a home for the homeless, operated by Cleopatra Steele
Ministries. This house is where co-author Morris Williams
was born and grew up.
At the First Baptist Church downtown, Reverend Carson
Brittain, who died October 2, 2009, was both pastor and pastor
emeritus. His father also pastored the Lake City First Baptist
Church in 1910 and was on the faculty of Columbia College.
