A LITTLE HUMOR

Old man and old lady Smith had gotten all of their children raised, and were finally back in their home
without any kids around during their older years. They lived way, way out in the boondocks, and had
never seen much of anything, nor been anywhere much.

One day ma said to pa, ‘Ta, I’ve heard several people taking vacations. Now that all the children are
gone, why don’t you and me take us a vacation?” Pa replied, “Well, ma, I don’t see any reason why we
can’t do that if you want to.”

So they threw a few clothes in a couple of paper sacks and put them on the old pick-up truck and started
off down the road. After about 2 hours of going down a sandy dirt road, they finally came to a highway,
neither of them had ever seen a paved road before.

Pa said, “Ma, look at that hard strip of dirt there. I don’t believe you could even get a plow into the
ground there”. Ma replied, “Pa, look at them cars going up and down on that thing. They are running
one end to the other, you suppose we could get on that with our truck and ride on it?” Pa said, “Well, ma
we’re going to try it, I’m getting on it now.”

After they had gone a few miles they passed a large billboard which had this message on it, “Feel young
again use Ex-lax!” Ma looked at that billboard and said, “Pa, would you like to feel young again?” He
said, “I wouldn’t mind feeling young again but I don’t know what that ex-lax stuff is.”

They kept going down the highway and after a while they stopped at a store, and sure enough the store
had some boxes of ex-lax. Ma said, “Pa, lets buy a box of that ex-lax and see if it will make us feel
young again”. He agreed and they bought it and got back in the truck and headed down the road again.
They began to eat the ex-lax like it was chocolate candy, and after about 10 minutes ma said, “Pa, are
you starting to feel young yet?” He replied, “No ma I can’t say that I do right yet” So they continued on
down the road munching on the ex-lax and after about 12 more minutes ma asked pa, “Pa have you
started feeling younger yet?”

Pa replied to her saying, “Well, ma, I can’t say that I feel any younger, but I did just do a childish
thing!”
